Appreciate the NHS is under constant pressure but feel you cannot leave patients for hours and hours without telling them what is going on. In my case it took 18 hours from entering the hospital to exit.

Suggested improvements
Just talk to people

The place was swamped, it took two hours even to have bloods taken on arrival. dozens of trolleys lined the corridor. the level of resource isn't adequate for the level of demand.

Suggested improvements
More staff - more beds, just a bigger department

Although the staff were extremely busy but when treating, pushing, talking and helping the attention was second to none. We were in A&E for 13 hours and felt exhausted when we got home and we were sitting, in my case laying, down but the staff never stopped, impressive. I was ‘lucky’ because I had a head injury and went through ITU but some we were aware of were still there when we left. It’s worth a mention that all the staff were not grumpy in fact they were cheering patients up and were positive all the time. Thank you.

Moved three time to three different corridors Department totally understaffed

Suggested improvements
It would be a good idea when the ambulance personal check the patient in, that they are given the ID bracelet to put on there patient as they have to leave them after a certain time period and basically the patient is alone It is also a good idea to have curtain screen’s available if the patient needs a bed pan / bottle instead of having to move the trolley or bed to another area, waiting for staff who are not busy as they always are and actually moving the bed in a limited My dad is 98 years old and a very proud man who desperately needed to use the toilet after being given furosemide and was so upset and very distressed that he wet himself not once but a few times until he was finally offered inco paints In 16 hours we saw an a & e doctor 3 times and finally a medical doctor who discharged my dad and arrange frailty team to do a home visit for bloods a few days later , he also said there were not beds available anyway

Everyone was tired, perhaps at their limit, but they remained caring and committed throughout. I do hope that we can get rid of this government and you get more help.

In the circumstances I doubt anything more could be done.
